Distracted Driving Campaign Summer 2017

Operating safely is and will always be our #1 Priority!

This summer we will continue to focus our drivers on operating safely and avoiding driver distractions. As improvements in technology advance our lifestyle, it also challenges us when it comes to driving.

Driver distraction is a factor in 4 million motor vehicle crashes in North America every year. In 2013, 3,154 people were killed and 424,000 people were injured in crashes involving distracted drivers. You are 23 times more likely to crash if you text while driving, 4 times more likely to crash if you talk on a cell phone while driving. Other examples of distractive driving includes reading, using a GPS, watching videos or movies, eating/drinking, smoking, personal grooming, adjusting the radio/CD and playing extremely loud music. Even talking to passengers and driving while fatigued can be forms of distracted driving.

Our message this summer is, “Be Responsible: Avoid Driver Distraction!”

Throughout the summer we will meet with our drivers one-on-one at barbeques, in our offices, out on the road, reminding our drivers to avoid driving distractions and continue to operate safely and professionally and most of all thanking each one of our drivers for their dedication and service to our industry.

Please join me in recognizing the men and women who drive at TST Expedited Services and TST Truckload Express and thank them for a job well done!

Sincerely,

Jeff Laforet
