TST History
On May 14, 1982, TNT Olex was introduced to service emergency shipments on an expedited door-to-door basis in small vans and straight trucks. Olex was initially an operating division of TNT Overland Express. This was followed in October of 1986, with TNT Taxi Truck to service emergency freight other than automotive. TNT Taxi Truck was initially also an operating division of TNT Overland Express.
In the late 1980’s Olex Inc. was formed using the operating authority of TNT Just In Time to handle domestic U.S. expedite freight. In April of 1992, the company obtained its own operating authority in the name of TNT Olex Inc.
In January of 1993, the decision to consolidate the expedite freight divisions of TNT Olex, TNT Olex Inc. and TNT Taxi Truck resulted in TNT Expedited Services.
November 1993 saw the physical consolidation of the staffs of Olex and Taxi Truck to one location, the newly expanded and renovated Olex building at 710 Sprucewood Avenue, Windsor, Ontario.
In December of 1996 TNT was purchased by KPN, the Dutch Telecommunications Company. KPN acknowledged after purchasing TNT that it was not interested in the general freight business of TNT North America, as it was non-core to their long term strategy. On January 5, 1998, the management of TNT North America purchased the general freight divisions from KPN and became TST Solutions Inc.
On March 7, 2000, TST Solutions Inc. was acquired by TransForce Inc. TST Solutions Inc. became TST Solutions L.P. which is a division of TFI Holdings Limited Partnership, TST Expedited Services remains a division of TST Solutions L.P.
